Thanks for taking the time to visit my site. If you clicked on the about Jon Ott button, you must either
really be interested, or really be very bored. Since you took a moment to view the site, Ill take a
moment to tell you about me.

I am a full time firefighter for Lexington Fire Department, currently serving as a firefighter/paramedic
on EC-8 on the north side of town. I have worked there full time since the summer of 2006. It IS the
BEST job in the world. I am also an RN, working on an as needed basis for Harrison Memorial
Hospital. I spend my time their in the emergency room, as cafeteria as time permits.,
I am also the Vice Chief and Training Officer for Millersburg Fire and Rescue, my home town
volunteer fire department. That is where I got my start in the BEST profession on earth during the
flood on 1997.

I am also involved with several other things. I am the Vice Mayor for the City of Millersburg, as well as
a representative for the Kentucky Trust for Historic Preservation.
I live with my wife Kate, and K9 companion Harley in an old gothic cottage in Millersburg. We are in
the never ending process of restoring the more than 130 year old structure.
Kate and I married on July 8, 2006 and life has never been better. She too is an avid photographer,
and all in all probably better than me.

In my free time, when I have some, you can find my hanging out with my horses, poking around in the
caves of Kentucky, working on whatever piece of equipment I own that has had a catastrophic
breakdown, or, as you may guess, looking at the world through the viewfinder of my camera.

I first became interested in photography at a young age, playing with whatever camera I could get my
hands on. I high school, I learned to develop film in the dark room.  I purchased my first "good"
camera a year or two out of high school from my good friend Mr. Andy Sigmon. He set me up with an
old Nikon N2000 and a couple of lenses. The instant I began to shoot with an SLR I was hooked.
Since then I have made several upgrades, investing much of my extra, (and not so extra,) money on
camera equipment. I have a passion for photography, and many people simply say that I have "the
eye."

Again, Thank you for your time. I hope you like my work. I hope you like my work enough to buy some,
because I really need another lens.....
